Ingredients:

  • 1 cup gluten-free flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 cup warm water (adjust as needed)
  • Oil for frying (coconut oil or avocado oil)

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling pin
  • Deep frying pan
  • Slotted spoon
  • Paper towels

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine gluten-free flour, coconut flour, salt, turmeric powder, and cumin powder.
  • Gradually add warm water to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms. Adjust water as needed.
  • Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth, then cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball).
  • On a clean surface, roll each ball into a small circle, about 4-5 inches in diameter, using a rolling pin.
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully slide in one rolled poori at a time.
  • Fry until the poori puffs up and turns golden brown, about 30 seconds on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
